But not all RVs are the same. There are some things that every family should remember before they agree to rent a particular RV. As a very important component for the outdoors, the RV should be carefully chosen.
The following are mistakes that should be avoided to prevent any trouble caused by an RV:
1. Not knowing enough about the RV - The RV looks good from the outside but is it any better inside? Before agreeing to rent a particular RV, careful inspection should be done. Aside from the insides of the RV, check the engine to make sure they work as expected.
2. Not knowing what's needed during the travel - It is always important to know what you should be doing in the outdoors before selecting an RV. There are RVs dedicated to a particular activity and weather conditions so careful planning should be done before selecting an RV.
3. Getting an RV first before planning the itinerary - Renting an RV and planning the rest based on what you have on the vehicle is also another bad idea. There might be RVs that might not work well in various conditions so a badly chosen RV can practically ruin the trip.
4. No additional transportation - Large families should never have to cram themselves on a single RV just to have fun. It is a good idea to have a separate vehicle as this can be used as alternative transportation in case emergency happens.
5. No regard for different RVs - RVs come in different sizes, capacities, amenities and purpose. Ask the rental company for more details about a particular vehicle in order to reach an educated decision on which RV should be perfect for your weekend travel.
6. Leaving with an RV without the right equipment - It is always important to bring extra equipment that will support your RV. This will be useful in case some mechanical problems arise during your outdoor travel. Your simple troubleshooting skills should be more than enough to maintain your RV.
7. No Plan B - There are some RVs that are never good in certain weather conditions. To avoid disappointment always have a plan B so that you and your family will still have a great time and the RV will still be useful even in a different weather condition.
8. No reservations for camping - You do not want your RV to stay in the side of the road because you failed to make any reservations for the night. It's also important to double check the restrictions of the camp site to determine if your RV is allowed to stay there for the night.

10. No contact information - Never leave your home without the contact information of the rental company. Their number is very important since this will help you take care of the RV and they can also be called in case you need additional assistance during your travel. As much as possible look for a direct phone number so that you can be assured that someone will answer the phone when you call.
