Because of the extensive preparation, it is a must that the vacation must be near perfect. For those who are planning in visiting this amazing tourist destination, here are some mistakes to avoid before and during your WDW vacation.
1. Planning too many activities - There are too many things that can be done in Walt Disney World but that does not mean that every activity has to be experienced. Plan out the activities that should be done so that there will still be time to rest.
2. Ignoring parking hours - Always be smart in using special parking hours in Walt Disney World. The park can easily get crowded near lunch so it is smart to be a little bit early for parking. Too late or too early can be costly or frustrating since there could be fewer parking spaces available.
3. Booking directly with WDW - This tip is a bit strange but many tourists have reported problems because they have booked directly to WDW. Avoid this problem by booking through a trusted travel agent. Even online travel agents will be a better option.
4. Going for last minute bookings - Gambling for the best rate in the last minute is almost impossible in Walt Disney World. As much as possible, save by booking early. Contact your travel agent at least 90 days before check-in to lock in on a good rate.
5. Proceeding to Walt Disney World without reservations - Complementing the previous tip, tourists should never reserve anything only when they arrive in Walt Disney World. While there are still available rooms and services, they are often expensive that the room alone will cost thousands in one night.
6. Looking for off property hotels - Off property (outside Walt Disney World) hotels could provide great savings. But the travel time can easily cost you. Spend a little bit more for on site hotels to save money and avoid frustration. The savings for an off site property is not worth it.
7. Bringing cash instead of small essentials - Bottled water can be very expensive in Walt Disney World. Avoid this extra spending by bringing in few bottled water which will come in handy. Other essentials should also be brought while on travel to avoid extra spending.
8. Not enough gear for changing weather - Just when you think it will not rain, the rain will pour very hard. Avoid the trouble of going through WDW wet by brining an umbrella. This is also perfect for shielding you and your kids from the hot sun.

9. Bringing bags with many pockets - This is just a small inconvenience but it will affect your itinerary. WDW security is very tight that they will check every pocket in the bag before allowing anyone in. Look for a backpack or a bag that have two or three pockets for easy inspection.
10. No proper plan - The Walt Disney World provides extensive information for their tourists. Grab a map of WDW and learn which places you need to visit. Walking from one place to another is not only costly but very tiring. A good plan will help you visit major attractions and enjoy the best WDW has to offer.
