Having a baby is not only fun but is costly as well. With the rising cost of diapers, you will find yourself strapped with cash as you change your baby’s diapers at least 10 times a day. If you are not smart in selecting the right type of diaper that could save you money, you will be spending your  entire shopping money on diapers alone.

You also have to act fast regarding this because each day would mean extra spending  at your end. Fortunately, there are ways on which you can save money on diapers. You just have to be patient a little bit and withstand a little inconvenience.

. Cloth vs. Disposable Diapers

Diapers come in two forms – cloth or disposables. To save money,  cloth diapers are recommend as these are washable and reusable. However, it should be noted that only those who have trouble adjusting to the inconvenience of using cloth diapers have opted to use disposable. But there is actually a third choice.

There are diapers made of cloth that comes with disposable features. Inside of a cloth diaper is an absorbent sheet which could be removed and disposed while the clothing part is washable. You are practically using the absorbent part of the disposable diaper and use it in cloth diapers.

Do your research and look for the perfect combination of cloth and disposable diaper. Do not be swayed by claims that their diaper is more absorbent. If there is a difference of the absorbency in diapers, it is not noticeable.

. Get the one that Fits

Instead of looking for a product that would provide the most absorbency, look for the size that perfectly fits your baby. A perfectly fitting diaper will definitely upgrade the performance of your diaper. Your baby will most likely feel great with a good fitting diaper because it will not be sloppy and you will feel better too since if it perfectly fits, it will provide maximum coverage to your baby.

. Store Brands and in Bulk

Aside from looking for the one that will perfectly fit your baby, do not go and grab the most popular diaper. As we have already indicated, the absorbency claim of popular diapers is not true as there is no noticeable difference. That means you can buy the cheapest brand of diapers in the market – store brands.

Store brands may not look good in paper, but aside from careful advertising and expensive packaging, these store brands are practically the same from other branded products. To have more savings, buy in bulk as stores will most likely place a discount for their customers who would buy in large quantities. Do not worry; before you know it, your baby might have already used at least half of the diapers you purchased.

. Big but not that big

Buying in bulk on the other hand, does not mean you have to buy everything in the store with the same size. Remember that your baby could grow really fast that in two or three months time, the size that you already have may not fit your baby. Get a good estimate on how fast your baby grows and adjust your buying habit on diapers. You could still purchase in bulk to grab the most savings.

If there are store coupons, do not hesitate to use them. It could only be cents but if you buy in bulk, they could mean a lot. Also, buying online could also give you the chance of comparing which company could provide the cheapest type of diapers that you need. Be sure to consider the shipping and handling costs as this might cost you extra money which means instead of savings, you are spending more as you bought them online.
