Cheap Way to Handle Stress

 

Difficult work conditions and the high level of pressure from the upper management for productivity and customer retention will take its toll in our body. Although it will not directly affect our body, our mind will get stressed out and the body will naturally react to the mind.

Sickness, weight gain and other mental conditions could be caused by stress. The ability to handle stress is a must as this would mean survival not only in the business world but also in life. If you do not handle stress, you will end up getting sick which will cost you money.



However, the recommendations that we often see could cost us. There are companies who recommend burning candles that provides an aromatic scent that would calm our senses. There are also recommendations of going to the gym to make the blood flow in our body to reduce stress considerably.



Yoga classes are known to relieve stress in a person’s body because it releases the tensions lodged in the muscles. All of these ideas looked really good and could be an effective way to handle stress. However these ideas are a little bit expensive. With these solutions, you might not have stress that stems from work but you will still have stress because your money was spent to get rid of business stress. .



The Cheaper Alternative

Fortunately, there are alternatives for stress reduction that will cost next to nothing:



Get your blood pumping – When at work, get up and shake your hands if you feel your mind are stuck to something that you cannot move on. The reason why you cannot think well and get stressed in the process is on your blood flow. The brain will work better if the blood flow is optimal in the body. During your break, you can also walk around – practically anything to get the blood pumping. .



Exercise – Complement your small work exercise with a weekend jogging. You do not need to spend more than two hours in a gym twice a week to handle stress. Every weekend, get out for at least 30 minutes to an hour for brisk walking or jogging. This will work like wonder to your body and remove stress that was accumulated during your work week. .



Pray – Oftentimes your busy life hampers our spiritual side. Going back to your faith will work wonder because it will give you the feeling of security in the midst of all the turmoil in your homes as well as work. .



Sit down and breathe – The “ten second rule” can also be applied to address stress. If you feel your job is too overwhelming and you cannot almost do anything; sit down, relax with you feet firmly planted to the ground and breathe deeply. Do that 10 times and you will feel so much better when you open your eyes. By breathing, your blood flow will increase and you could collect your thoughts to tackle the problem. .



Read – You do not need to buy the latest book in the market today. Get a book that you always like and read it again. You can be moved again with the stories and feel good about it. Be sure to get a book that will give you a happy ending so that you will feel good in the end. .

Have time for yourself everyday – “My time” is very important as it will give you the chance to collect your thoughts and think about the day that just happened. Instead of listening to incessant problems at work and at home, get out or just stay in a place where there is no distraction. It would even be therapeutic if you could work on your hobby or garden to focus your energy on something else and remove the stress in your body.
