Small Business TipsSave Money While Improving Your Business
A successful business has to be conscious of their daily expenses all the time. Saving money is always an imperative for business. We don't just let out any money without expecting a return. Everything is an investment and if there is always the cheaper way with the same results, a business has to go with it.
Here is some money saving tips for your business to while helping your business grow. These ideas even increase the productivity of your employees. That means, not only you'll be saving money but you're increasing your general output.
Think green
Going green is not expensive nowadays. In fact, going green will save you a good amount of money if you're diligent in doing them. For example, instead of going for hard paper, everything could be done online or if there's no internet connection, properly networked computers will do wonders. You don't even have to spend much in ink as information could be shared electronically.
Energy efficient equipments
CFL instead of regular bulbs and LCD instead of CRT monitors. These are just some of the energy friendly steps that you can do in your office. You don't even have to go as far buying brand new equipments especially for LCD monitors. There are second hand shops across the country which slashes up to 50% of the brand new price of an LCD.
Give your employees better chairs, not tables.
A good table will help your workers but a really nice chair will do wonders. Just get a good table while transferring its cost to a chair. You're not spending one cent more on tables and chair but you increase productivity by providing a comfortable place to work for your employees.
Be smart about advertising
Advertising should never be compromised in a business but an alternative is always there. Instead of spending on advertising alone, why not split it with your neighbor? Billboard advertising will cost only 50% as you split the advertising cost. This is even better when you're already an established business and your neighbor is still struggling to put up a name.
Interns
The perfect money saving trick. A good company knows how to utilize interns without breaking a single penny. But don't just offer them experience; offer them something they could remember such as a good meal or two. Who knows, these interns may be good business partners someday as they learn a thing or two from your business.
Don't just give out credit
Accepting credits cards in a business transaction is ok. But giving credit to people you know may be dangerous for your business. Remember that you are also taking care of your cash flow so any adjustments will create a domino effect which will end as a disadvantage for your business.
Negotiate with your providers every six to ten months
Your internet provider, web host and even your long distance company values loyalty more than anything else. "Exploit" it a little bit by negotiating your price every six, eight or ten months or before you renew your contract.
Lease vs. Purchase
Purchasing equipment for short range use is never a good thing. Always think of the usefulness of the equipment as this will dictate whether we will be leasing or purchasing the equipment.
Carpooling
If you're employees are complaining about the gas prices (who doesn't?), it's time for the carpooling strategy. Set up a meeting wherein your employees will take turn in picking up their fellow employees.
