Shopping TipsAvoiding Shopping Malls
Shopping is a great experience not only for your personal satisfaction but it’s also a good way to bond with the family and friends. You can go to shopping malls and take a look at things and when you find a good thing you might go ahead and purchase it. That sounds really good as long as you have the money. Everyone can go around looking at stuff and go home with some of the things they wish to purchase. If they can’t get it now maybe in your next visit to the shopping mall they can finally get the things they want.

However, we’re not rich and although we’re not really poor we have a very long way to go just to achieve that status of being financially independent. Our country is experiencing a financial crises and everyone is feeling the heat. And don’t let the coolness of being in a shopping mall fool you. Some of the worst shopping habits are developed in these malls. Some may say that it’s a good past time just to hang-out in a mall but there are others who have found the mall as a place to shop even without the necessary resources to support it.
If you’re having trouble with your finances, stay away from shopping malls. That may seem to be very a harsh measure but consider these facts:
• When you’re in shopping malls you tend to use your credit card most of the time. With credit cards, you won’t be able to monitor and even stop yourself from spending too much. You will only probably stop when you hit the ceiling on your credit card which is already too late and too big for you to handle.
• Even if you use cash, you might find yourself struggling to stop your cash spending. At the end of the day, you might have spent the cash you have or worst, you might have used your credit card for a cash advance. Remember that cash advances have more than 20% of interest.
Avoiding shopping malls is good way to avoid temptation. We can say that we are just there to enjoy the place but the fact that you are there means you are entertaining the idea of shopping again. If you’re not there, you are practically blocking the remotest possibility of spending your money in a shopping mall.
Don’t think that everything will crumble when you can’t shop in malls. In fact, there are better shops that a mall could provide. There are small shops in your locality and they could provide more than just simple things you are looking for. The best thing about these shops is that you can actually haggle and if you’re a good and loyal customer you can get things at a lower price compared to a mall. They can also give you the preferential option when they have specials in their shops if you remain loyal to them.
When you are not in a shopping mall, you also avoid purchasing high value labels. Designer clothes will look really great but spending thousands of dollars in a single bag is not worth it. When you deal with smaller shops you get to buy things that are locally made. There maybe shops that sell high value labels but these shops are easier to avoid that in cozy and cool shopping malls. Smaller shops usually create their own wares and would sell them in lower prices since you are transacting with a direct manufacturer.
