The Obsession in Writing

Writing is definitely one of my passions. I can sit all day in front of my laptop and write about the things that interests me. I may have spent considerably on supplies such as paper and printer, a good computer, a robust internet connection and even that small USB powered fridge that cools my drink while I write.

The money I have spent in writing has also caused me to focus on writing considerably that it could be called an obsession. There are so many ways I can tell you how writing is better than anything. The ability to play with words is considered magical and I consider it a privilege.

In your part, you have used writing for so many ways – as a kid for your book report, in college as your term paper and as a parent to write excuse letters why your kids can’t come to school. Writing could even be used to do another thing – save money.

A Money Saving Way

Writing could be used to save money for the following reasons:

Writing will make you think

Writing the things that you want to buy will make you think what you are about to spend money on. Not everything that you want is something that you need. You could be very impulsive and spend it on something that you want.

However, if you write the good and the bad things about the product or service that you want, you can think twice and even realize that this product or service is not good for you.

Remind you how much you have spent

If you are keeping a journal, you’re most likely to write the things you have bought. That journal might be your way to spend money considerably. One of the reasons why we can’t control our money is that we don’t know how much we have already spent.

If you have a journal you should be able to see how much you have spent before the next payday comes. The worst thing that could happen if you write down what you have spent is that you’ll realize that you have something that you have to buy. But if you want to save money from the start, writing what you spent will remind you how good or bad you were with your money.

Family interaction

If you could write down everything that you have bought for the day you can easily share the information to your family. Through writing, they will see how much the family have spent and how much money is left. If you could provide them a clear idea on how much money you have left, everyone will realize this and starts chipping in to save more money.

Earning from Your Writing

If you think you have a knack for writing, you can share your ideas online and in your local newspaper to earn money. You could be writing on the things that interest you or you can write about saving money. Because of the financial struggles that we have today, people now seek help online to save money.

They look for articles on basic tips on how to save money. You don’t need to be a financial planner just to be an advisor on how to save money. There are websites operated by mothers wherein they share tips on how to save money everyday. You could also start one and through your blog, you can share your ideas in saving money. You can earn from your online writing through the revenues in your ads or you can write online in behalf of another company and get paid for doing it.
