Saving on Children's Party

Children’s party is almost a must for every kid. It will boost their self esteem, gain more friends and improve their outlook in the society. The games that they play are not just for the sake of having fun but it increases their ability to interact with other kids. Unfortunately, the idea of fun for these kids especially during birthday parties is a little bit expensive if you don’t watch out for your expenses. We have to think of ways of saving money while having fun.

The smartest and the first thing that you have to do to save money for your kid’s birthday part is to plan ahead of time. Write EVERYTHING what you should buy, who you should invite and what will be happening in the party. Although there is a possibility that you’ll deviate from the budget, you’ll know how much you’ll be spending if everything has been planned out. Sit with your kids or another parent so that they can bring up money saving ideas for the birthday party.

In your plan, location could be the number threat to your budget. Eliminate that threat by holding the birthday part right in your backyard. You don’t have to pay the rent and you don’t have to worry about the deposit in case you break anything. Don’t just go for McDonalds or fast food restaurants as their location is very expensive and not to mention their food.

On terms of food, don’t sweat yourself too much with what to prepare. Instead of preparing lunch or brunch for the kids, the birthday party should happen from 2pm to 4pm. During these times you don’t need to prepare a heavy meal for the kids and the parents. Snacks should be enough and really cold drinks for the kids and the parents to completely ward off the heat of the sun.

Of course any kid’s birthday party is not complete without the birthday cake. If you’re really busy you might want to order as it will save you time. But this will not save you money. As we’ve pointed out before, planning is everything in saving money in your birthday party. When you have planned efficiently, you should have the time to prepare for the cake. Parents of other kids should be able to help you prepare for the cake. You’ll save more than half in your birthday cake expenses when you do it with your friends.

Decorations and a theme personally are optional in a birthday party. But here’s a simple tip. You might be tempted to buy mermaid themed invitations, cups, saucers and even decorations. A set will put a hole in your packet and max out your credit card really fast. You can still save the theme decoration by buying only two things for example, a plate and a cup with the mermaid on it is ok. You just have to complement them with a color so that it’ll look really nice.

Last but not the least is the activities. Forget about the mascots, the magicians and the clown. The smartest way is to organize action party games. Action games don’t require a lot of equipments and the kids will have a great time playing these games. The excitement is still the same and all you need to do is to make things safe around the kids. For that part, parents can help out in making their kids play safe.

Remember, planning is one of the ways to ensure you don’t spend a single cent more than what you have. There are hundreds of alternatives for you to save in your kid’s birthday party. Just be imaginative and have fun with the kids.
