Money Making Ideas for Your Home

Owning a home today on mortgage is in a rather gloomy situation because of the sub-prime mortgage problem. Although it’s not thoroughly discussed on different media outlets, trouble with the housing industry still exists and might continue for a very long time. You may have thought of selling your home but the buying price of your home is so low that you will end up with another debt because your outstanding balance in mortgage is higher than the appraised price of your home.

Instead of treating your home as a burden, why not transform your home into a money making machine? You may be surprised on the things your home could do. And we’re not just talking about garage sale (although that’s still a great idea in earning using your home).

Rent as an Option

Due to housing crises, more single individuals and professionals and small families have opted in renting instead of buying another home. There is a considerable increase of demand for renting space in most cities. Most of these individuals are thinking that instead of paying for an expensive mortgage only to be evicted, it’s better to rent and pay considerably less.

Transforming one part of your bedroom as a space for rent is easy. You just have to clean it and repair all the cracks in walls to make it look presentable. In each city there are certain rules and required licenses to be eligible in renting a space in your home. A short research on the provisions and even the pricing should be more than enough to get you started.

Party Sales Central

Transform your living room as the “headquarters” for party sales. Direct sellers could consider using their home as the party sales site but if you have developed your home with a few decorations and additional equipments such as chairs and tables, you could persuade them to hold the party in your house. You don’t have to buy expensive chairs. You can stick to plastic chairs as additional equipments. You can rent your home or you can share the profits with the direct seller. After two to three party sales, your home will be the recognized gathering place for different party sales.

Renting Your Garage

If you have a spare space in your garage, don’t keep it to yourself. With little to no effort at all, you can rent your garage to your neighbors or just anyone you know who needs an extra garage for their car. They may or may not use the car but you can charge them for the weekly rent. Think about it as an apartment for rent made for cars. This would even be better if you are a mechanic or knows how to troubleshoot a car as you can expand your services in maintaining their car if they are planning to use them in the near future.

A Boarding Place for Animals

Another option for extra cash from your garage is to transform this area in your home into a boarding place for animals. Why you would ask? Busy people can’t just leave their pets alone in their homes without proper care. This is true especially for caged pets that need to be fed at certain time of the day.

This is also an option for those who are planning to go for vacation without their pets. This is usually the setting since they can’t just bring their pets to flights, and hotels since it will cost them more. If you have an experience in pet grooming, you can also offer that type of service in your home.

A little transformation in some places in your home will help you earn money in your spare time. It might even become a great home based business which will help you achieve financial freedom.
